... and I saw that Daniel Ricciardo is Red Bull's second driver next year. I was pretty sure Buemi was going to get the move to the big time, seeing as he's the Red Bull test driver and Ricciardo was the Torro Rosso second driver, at least at the start of the season.

The 2014 grid will be interesting for sure, and I'm putting my money on a Ferrari Constructor's Championship, and a 5th Championship for fucking Sebastion Control Vettel. See what I did there?

nah, Buemi was dropped from Toro Rosso in favour of Ricciardo, and Ricciardo has been consistently in the points, more so than Buemi and Vergne.

also look at that boyish grin, the marketing guys are gonna love that.

I assumed as much, but I think there are only 5 points between the two Toro Rosso drivers. RBR probably is just wanting to cultivate a younger driver.

The seat was going to go to either Kimi or Ricciardo (if you watched any F1 broadcast from Silverstone onward you would have known this). Buemi was only kept on as a reserve driver because he is familiar with the program and a better driver than Jamie Alguersuari.

hmm yeah I see what you mean, though if they were going for that alone then Vergne is younger and has more career points than Ricciardo. (29 to Dan's 28)

I think it comes down to consistency, Dan has only 4 retirements while Jean-Eric has 9 and a €25,000 fine for the crash he caused at Silverstone last year.

I watched the Silverstone Grand Prix, but I don't remember any of that. I do remember Ricciardo impressing everyone a few times.
